Midshipmen Action Group Award Winners

During Commissioning Week, two of the MAG members who have worked with Goshen Farm over the last three years received awards in a ceremony at the Naval Academy. Midshipmen First Class, Susan Funk and Peter Guo, received the Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal. Peter was also awarded the USAA Community Service Award in a separate ceremony. Goshen Farm Board Members, Louis Biondi and Becky and Roy Benner, were invited to attend the ceremony. Dean Cowherd, Assistant State Soil Scientist with the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service who holds frequent soil health lectures at Goshen Farm also attended. The MAG dug the soil pit he uses in his lectures.
