Midshipmen Action Group Awards Goshen Farm
On May 18, 2015 in the beautiful and solemn setting of Memorial Hall at United States Naval Academy the Goshen Farm Preservation Society (GFPS) received recognition for its work with the Midshipmen Action Group (MAG). A total of eleven community organizations were recognized for giving the Midshipmen an opportunity to provide community service.
MAG members participate in numerous local volunteer and community service programs throughout the academic year. Last year MAG logged over 24,000 volunteer hours of community service projects locally and throughout the country.
GFPS has benefited enormously over the last several years from the volunteer work done by MAG at Goshen Farm. They have assisted with mapping the grounds with ground penetrating radar, cleared the land for the expansion of the Sharing Garden, helped with the Memorial Grove, Colonial Orchard, and the Henson-Hall Slave Garden, as well as the erecting of our flag pole.
Their enthusiasm, dedication, and enjoyment of the wonder that is Goshen Farm has made the MAG a joy to work with. We appreciate the award and thank all the volunteers for their efforts.
